Here are the wireless signals that my laptop can pick from my house. Note that only two configuration (mine and one other) are configured with any security. The others are wide open, including two that still have the default names left over when the wireless routers were first installed.
Folks, you're leaving your front door open and your wallets on the kitchen table.
