Mr. Hakkarainen goes to Helsinki

[This post is one of a series about Teuvo Hakkarainen, the newly elected True Finns Party MP from Viitasaari. For the record, my grandfather was born in Viitasaari.]

The Helsingin Sanomat and Helsinki Times report that  True Finn leader Timo Salmi, "trembling with rage," had to upbraid MP Hakkarainen once again for, um, racially insensitive remarks. MP Hakkarainen was quoted in a newspaper interview that Helsinki is filled with “negro geezers” (the polite translation of the Finnish word for nigger) who should be sent into the forests to do real work. The woods, however, might then be filled with these shirkers with their Islamic law and other coarse customs from the Horn of Africa.
"I do not tolerate this kind of talk," Soini said.
As noted earlier, a gambling parlor is taking bets on how long Mr. Hakkarainen will remain as a member of parliament.
