Cream rises to the top, but so, too, do dead fish

A glance at Casey Kasem's top-10 lists for the past 39 years shows that the most recent songs that I own are from 1984, suggesting one or more of the following:
  • I got old.
  • The music in the last 25 years is really bad.

I have lots of music post-1984, almost none of it brought to my attention by radio. Most of it comes from poking around eMusic.
