Game 7

We went further than we'd expected. A few quick thoughts:
  • The Celtics lost the game on the offensive boards.

  • When they moved without the ball, they got the shots.
  • I don't know which was worse - the TV play-by-play or the officiating.
For most of the series, we listened to the radio. Mike Tirico, Hubie Brown, and Dr. Jack Ramsay were quite good (said by a guy who grew up listening to Johnny Most). The TV crew ranged from forgettable to lame.
Although the pace of pro basketball games would probably suffer, the NBA needs to use instant replay more.
  • Where was the fast break?
  • The three-point shot produces bad basketball, particularly for the example that it sets for kids. Let each player spend that amount of time practicing free throws instead.
  • Rajon Rondo impresses me more by his hustle than by his skills and he's got plenty of skills.
  • Thanks to this year's Celtics team.
