We gather together for kibbles and scritches

We have company this weekend. Her name is Maya. She's a six-month-old Golden/poodle mix, a Goldendoodle of a dog. Her family is traveling for the holiday; she's staying with us until Sunday.

Maya brings good energy to the household.  The brain says puppy, even if the body says dog. (It's never polite to guess a lady's weight.) We've not had a dog who's more interested in playing than pretty much anything else, including eating. She's well-behaved. (She's been to school and it shows.) With young ears and young eyes, she hears and sees much and is curious about it all. Did I mention that she's ready to play?
She runs (bounces, really) full-tilt around the yard, gaining energy as she goes.

And Marley? He knows his world and he's sticking to it. He'll play outside for a while, but then wants to come back in the house. Occasionally, he'll get a bit cranky and fill his mouth with chew toys just to make sure that she knows that he can have anything that he wants.
And us? We can benefit from a dose of youthful energy, too.
