We take blessings when and where we can

Among the stacks and boxes o' stuff that threatens to engulf us all, I found an old newspaper, a copy of the Gardner News from 1965. Beef liver was 33¢ per pound. You could advertise for a woman to do house-cleaning. Drew Pearson was still writing the Washington Merry-G0-Round. And, there was Blessing of the Throats service at the Roman Catholic church in Westminster.

I've been cleaning out my father's old house recently and came across several similar type things. Instructions for how to solder a computer together from 1969. Wow.

Thanks for sharing, the blessings of the throats must have been interesting!
