How to pay $49 not to get your phone

So, I had the idea to see what upgrade options are available for my cell phone. I like my phone, but I also like new stuff.
The VerizonWireless web site shows me my phone.

After a few clicks, I'm brought to a page that shows all of the phones available for my upgrade. Some are free. Some are discounted.
I learn that I am eligible to upgrade my phone to my phone for $49, but I can't because it's out of stock.

I think that I'll save my money and not upgrade my phone to the same phone that I can't have.
